This holiday season, we invite you to be part of something truly meaningful with Diakonie’s “Shoe Box Project” (Krabice od bot), the largest Christmas gift collection in the Czech Republic for children in need. As our valued charity partner for the 14th edition of our mentoring program, Diakonie is helping us spread joy to disadvantaged children—and you can help make a difference!

If you attended the Opening Session in September, you may already have your empty box. But don’t worry if you missed it—there’s still a way to join in! 🎉 You can pick up an empty box at the BCC office and start filling it with holiday cheer. From November 25 to December 8, 2024, we encourage you to fill your box with thoughtful gifts, label it with the age and gender of the child it’s meant for, and bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season.

Your gift could be the only present they receive, so every box truly makes an impact. Join us in creating a brighter holiday for children who need it most. 🎄

📦 How to Give Away the Box

     

      1. Choose a Collection Point: Visit Diakonie’s website to select a convenient drop-off location and reserve a gift for a specific child. You can pick a child by age and gender, ensuring each gift is tailored and personalized.

      1. Prepare Your Gift: Fill a shoe box with quality items like toys, school supplies, art materials, or small accessories. Wrap the box in festive, sturdy paper 🎁, but avoid large decorations that might come loose. Clearly label the box with the child’s age and gender so it reaches the right recipient.       1. Drop Off Your Box: Take your completed box to the designated drop-off point during its opening hours, where volunteers will handle the rest. The gift will be carefully distributed to a child from a low-income family, bringing holiday cheer directly to those who need it most.

    For Mentors and Mentees who missed the Opening Session, empty boxes are available for pickup at the BCC office (Václavské nám. 832/19, 110 00 Nové Město), Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 to 17:00, until December 5. Simply let us know at equilibrium@britcham.cz, and we will arrange a time with you to pick up your box!
