My Story with Simona Koszty

We are thrilled to welcome all participants to the first event of the My Story season! This series is dedicated to sharing inspiring journeys and insights from influential leaders, and we are excited to have Simona Koszty, the Director of Strategy & Transformation at Barclays and Prague Site Director for Barclays Execution Services Limited in the Czech Republic, in the spotlight.

Simona’s career has been anything but straightforward. She has built her reputation in male-dominated technical fields, navigating industry shifts and organizational change with a steady, people-focused approach. Starting out in recruitment during the 2008 financial crisis, she quickly learned to adapt and lead through uncertainty, skills that have served her through acquisitions, market crises, company restructurings, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her story is one of resilience and quiet determination. Simona experienced a company acquisition while pregnant, returned to work when her daughter was just nine months old, often facing less-than-supportive reactions, and even completed her university degree during maternity leave. Coming from a non-technical background, she has often faced imposter syndrome yet has built a respected career in the tech sector by combining adaptability with a strong focus on people and results.

Simona’s journey reflects the reality of many women balancing ambition with personal milestones. Through anecdotes from her work and personal life, Simona offers honest insights into managing change, navigating growth, and building a career in complex environments.
