Join us for an exceptional edition of “BCC Talk” with Lejla Abbasová. She will share her dynamic journey, from her early days in Czech media at age 18 to serving as spokesperson for the Liga etnických menšin and the Czech Minister for Human Rights and National Minorities.
Beyond her media career, Lejla will reflect on founding Asante Kenya, through which she has championed education projects, menstrual hygiene initiatives, and the empowerment of Maasai women in Kenya and Tanzania, combining humanitarian work with her professional expertise.
Lejla is a role model for bridging cultures, seamlessly blending professional excellence, humanitarian dedication, and intercultural insight to inspire socially engaged leadership and global citizenship.
MEET OUR SPEAKER

Lejla Abbasová is a presenter, screenwriter, and founder of the Asante Kenya Foundation, which supports educational and community projects in Kenya. She has been working with a remote Maasai community on the border between Kenya and Tanzania for many years and has received recognition for her humanitarian work, including a bronze medal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She has hosted music and current affairs programs and talk shows in the media. In addition, she now focuses on hosting social events and, above all, professional conferences, often for foreign clients.
She is the patron of the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE), ambassador for the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the Czech Republic (point 1: Zero Hunger), and patron of the international award for social innovation, SozialMarie. She has long supported a number of non-profit projects.
Lejla is also a mother of four children and speaks openly about the joys and challenges of parenthood. She combines her experience of growing up between two cultures with an authentic view of family, equality, and professional life. Her voice inspires and encourages others to seek balance in their personal and professional lives.
